"What is Building Commissioning"? 

Building commissioning (Cx) is a systematic, quality-focused process for verifying that a building's systems—HVAC, lighting, plumbing, and electrical—are designed, installed, and tested to perform according to the owner’s requirements and design intent. It ensures operational efficiency, occupant comfort, safety, and energy savings.

Our commissioning process follows the industry’s best practices and aligns with guidance from **ASHRAE commissioning standards. We work collaboratively with owners, designers, and contractors to ensure building systems perform according to the Owner’s Project Requirements (OPR) and the Basis of Design (BOD). 

 We work with the owner and design team to establish the project’s commissioning scope and performance goals.  

• Assist in development of the Owner’s Project Requirements (OPR) 
• Define commissioning scope and plan 
• Identify systems to be commissioned 

 During design, we review project documents to verify that systems meet the project’s operational goals.  

• Review design drawings and specifications 
• Confirm alignment with the OPR and Basis of Design (BOD) 
• Provide commissioning specifications for inclusion in the construction documents 

 During construction, we verify that systems are installed correctly and prepared for testing.  

• Submittal and shop drawing reviews 
• Installation verification and site observations 
• Development of pre-functional and functional testing procedures 
• Coordination with contractors and project teams 

 Building systems are tested under real operating conditions to verify performance.  

• Functional performance testing 
• Verification of system operation and control sequences 
• Documentation of deficiencies and corrective actions 

 After systems are operational, we help ensure long-term building performance.  

• Seasonal testing and performance verification

• Training for facility operations personnel
